Shotcut green screen11/13/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() these apps graphically integrate the fade icons into the graphics for items on the timeline. i'm used to more professional software, read that as avid, premiere, final cut, resolve, etc. ![]() i'm not crazy about the ux as regards fx, such as fades and dissolves. shotcut seems to also have a very steady development cycle whereas the other video tools being discussed (resolve excepted, again) seem slower and less robust. Other video observations are that i found shotcut to have the best/most reliable color grading tools, unless you jump up to resolve, of course. daunting the first time but once you've done it you see how easy it is. I've figured OBS out and love it and having looked at three different video editors this evening I'm going with Kdenlive assuming it is stable for might want to look into ffmpeg options as it makes it really easy to demux/remux video/audio losslessly. If I've video'd a jam/performance/self-indulgent meander that was recorded in Reaper I'll use Reaper to edit the video - I find it much easier to sync and edit using the bars and beats in Reaper than using an external video editor - but otherwise it's pretty much all Kdenlive. over the video, though I struggle to get green screen stuff working right. I use Kdenlive for the vast majority of my video editing, most of which is for local news/information videos with my community campaigner/local councillor (representative) hat on. The former is quick and easy to get going the latter is what I'm used to. On the rare occasions that I've done screen-recorded tutorials I've used SimpleScreenRecorder to record and Kdenlive for editing. If I manage to upload a YouTube video (scared!) I'll let you know hahaĮDIT: Jack and Cadence are handy for OBS. I don't have the 16 gb ram Davinci resolve needs, nor the interest to be a video editing person. I do basic recording with OBS(screen+webcam) or my phone(video, me playing piano)+Reaper(audio) and basic editing with Reaper. Aside from dabbling with Shotcut on Linux for a very simple job of grabbing a smaller section from a longer video, I've previously used MAGIX Video Pro X on Windows for more in-depth editing. Go editing on Linux is relatively new to me. How's Davinci Resolve? Overkill?Īnd the related question: how do people create the screen-recorded tutorial in the first place? OBS Studio or is this also overkill? I wondered what people use for video editing on Linux? I'm trying to make some screen-recorded tutorials for my classical editing tools and need to do simple things like add an intro sting at the beginning, add titles, other text, fades, multiple audio tracks etc. ![]()
